Similar to yesterday, we had some breakfast at the hotel restaurant again. I decided to change things up and had some beef noodle soup instead. It was actually quite tasty. I also had some pastries and toast with kaya which was great with coffee. Beef noodle soup at Le Meridien After breakfast, we again headed… Continue reading Malaysia Trip 2022/2023 Day 5: Kota Kinabalu

Malaysia Trip 2022/2023 Day 4: Kota Kinabalu
Good morning KK! This morning, I woke up to the sounds of prayers at around 5am. I don’t remember this in my past trips. Perhaps it’s because we’re closer to the city centre this time. For breakfast, we conveniently headed downstairs to Latest Recipe, the all day buffet restaurant here. They had a large selection of food including western food (eggs, bread, pastries, sausages and beans etc), traditional Malaysian breakfast (nasi lemak), Indian food (roti with curry), and a noodle bar (with various soups - vegetable, chicken, beef, tom yum). I had to start with some nasi lemak (their traditional breakfast) as my first meal here in Malaysia.
Malaysia Trip 2022/2023 Day 3: Incheon – Kota Kinabalu
Good morning, Incheon! We are finally on our final leg of this trip - to Kota Kinabalu! I can’t believe it’s been 3 days since we left Ottawa and we’re still “in transit”. We had breakfast at the hotel restaurant. They were very strict with covid practices here and it was mandatory that everyone wear… Continue reading Malaysia Trip 2022/2023 Day 3: Incheon – Kota Kinabalu
Malaysia Trip 2022/2023 Day 2 (Vancouver – Incheon): International Air Canada Business/Signature Class Review
Good morning Vancouver! Family decided to visit this morning before we had to go to the airport and they were so very kind to bring some breakfast for us from Kam Do Bakery. This busy Chinese bakery 3 minutes away from the hotel is known for their pineapple buns as well as wintermelon wife buns.… Continue reading Malaysia Trip 2022/2023 Day 2 (Vancouver – Incheon): International Air Canada Business/Signature Class Review
Bokksu: Japanese Adventure in a Box
I'm sure I'm not the only one who misses travelling during this time. (For those who stumble upon this post in the future, we are currently in a global pandemic right now.) When I travel, my priority is not so much to visit all the tourist attractions but rather to explore the great food the… Continue reading Bokksu: Japanese Adventure in a Box
Japan 3.0: Day 8 (Fukuoka)
It was our last day of our trip. Again, it is always sad to leave. Our flight was at 1pm today and we did not want to stress out rushing to the airport last minute again so we decided to just head over to the airport and eat and do some shopping there instead of… Continue reading Japan 3.0: Day 8 (Fukuoka)
Japan 3.0: Day 7 (Oguni – Mount Aso – Fukuoka)
It was our last day in our villa and we really made the most out of our time here by staying till the last minute. We took time to really soak in the beautiful scenery and serene atmosphere on our patio. The breakfast was once again lovely. On this day, there were a few more… Continue reading Japan 3.0: Day 7 (Oguni – Mount Aso – Fukuoka)
Japan 3.0: Day 6 (Kurokawa Onsen – Oguni)
It was day 2 of our road trip and it was raining miserably. Luckily, we don’t have to go very far for breakfast. It was a very nice traditional Japanese breakfast served in the dining room in the lobby of our resort. We appeared to be the only guests at the 9am seating that morning… Continue reading Japan 3.0: Day 6 (Kurokawa Onsen – Oguni)
Japan 3.0: Day 5 (Fukuoka – Oguni)
It’s road trip time! We started the day early to pick up our rental car at Times Rental near Hakata Station. Unfortunately, we head to deal with Japan rush hour on the train again; however, this time was a little more manageable given Fukuoka is not as big of a city as Tokyo. We made… Continue reading Japan 3.0: Day 5 (Fukuoka – Oguni)
Japan 3.0: Day 4 (Fukuoka)
We started off the day late after having a late night last night, which was fine because the pancake place we wanted to go to was not open until 10am. We slowly made our way over to Happy Pancake, where they serve big fluffy pancakes. When we arrived, we were seated right away but by… Continue reading Japan 3.0: Day 4 (Fukuoka)
