Costa Rica Day 14: Home

May 11, 2013August 1, 2018 tangybowser

Bright and early! We woke up at 3am to get ready to go to the airport. The hotel shuttle safely and efficiently got us to there. We were also pleasantly surprised with a packed breakfast, which was a very nice touch. Similar to my previous blogs, I will end with a reflective post. Culture The… Continue reading Costa Rica Day 14: Home

Costa Rica Day 13: San Jose

May 10, 2013August 1, 2018 tangybowser

Travel day! Today we woke up early to deal with transportation preparation. After that, we again prepared a similar breakfast in our villa. We enjoyed it on our porch with a final glimpse of the beach and appropriately listening to the soothing voices of “Today’s Male Singer-Songwriters” on Songza. We were then off to the… Continue reading Costa Rica Day 13: San Jose

May 9, 2013August 1, 2018 tangybowser

Aimes and I woke up early today to grab some groceries to prepare breakfast at our nice kitchen in our villa. On our menu is scrambled eggs, toast, chopped fruits, cheese, and coffee. We then relaxed/read on our porch and some of us when into town and bought the final addition to our bracelets! We… Continue reading Costa Rica Day 12: Santa Teresa (Malpais)

Fish, veggies, and rice - a staple home-cooked meal here in Malaysia. Day 17 post is up! Grilled stingray, a staple when one visits a Malaysian hawker centre. Boiled whole chicken and juicy satays!! My stomach is content ❤️ Nasi lemak - the national dish of Malaysia. It is traditionally served wrapped in banana leaf and includes fragrant coconut rice, anchovies (ikan bilis), peanuts, sambal (a flavourful chili paste) and boiled egg. See today’s blog post for more. Since the last time Aaron was in Malaysia (2020), there is now a lot of new coffee shops serving specialty coffee ☕️ suitable for a coffee snob like Aaron 🤓 Singapore fried vermicelli - Aaron’s favourite dim sum dish. Even though we are not in Singapore (#spoiler, yet), he still must try this. It definitely had more “wok air” than any restaurant in Canada. See today’s blog post for more details.
