Most Useful Travel Gear 2024

Our travelling has been picking up lately and here are some travel gear that we have been loving.

Uppababy Minu Stroller

This is our go-to compact stroller. We’ve been using this stroller since day 1 of our baby’s life outside of the hospital. At some points, our little one was not a fan of sitting in it but this purchase has proven to be helpful locally, for trips in a city and at airports. Even if she doesn’t sit in it, it’s nice to have something to place our bags on, so we don’t have to carry it on our shoulders/back. It’s nice and compact and even fits in small cruise ship hallways. The only downside is a smaller storage capacity in the bottom but it’s probably for the best to minimize overpacking it, since it can a pain to unload many items from the stroller to get onto shuttles and through security at the airport, etc.

Minu Stroller Bag

We purchased the Minu stroller bag as soon as we began travelling with our Minu stroller and we have actually been really impressed with it. Not only is it heavy duty and provides good protection (with extra warranty as long as you register the bag) for our stroller when it’s gate checked, it acts as extra storage if needed. We usually store extra wipes and diapers in it. During our last cruise trip, we also stored dirty laundry and extra shoes it in as we were getting on and off the ship since we didn’t actually need to store the stroller in it as we were using it.

Hanging Toiletries Bag

Given how much we travelled before, I’m surprised I’m such a late adopter to this. I absolutely adore my hanging toiletries bag. At first, I was concerned that it took up quite a bit of space in the luggage but it’s super handy. Instead of having many little bags, this allows me to pack all of my toiletries (dry and liquid) as well as make-up. Many accommodations do not have a lot of counter space so this is an absolute game changer. I find that it’s more hygienic too since it’s not just hanging out on the bathroom counter.

Monos Suitcase

I’ve had my fair share of luggage disasters. See previous posts on how I had to buy new luggages in the middle of the trip due to these disasters. We now have the Monos carry-on and medium sized suitcases in a cute Terrazzo pattern. It’s very lightweight, looks super sleek but also very sturdy.

Nordace Siena – Smart Backpack

I’ve also tried my fair share of “personal items”. The Nordace Siena – Smart Backpack is the most comfortable and practical travel backpack which doubles as a day to day diaper bag with it’s million compartments.

Cross body bag

Not only is it stylish but I find it also very practical to be carrying around a cross body/belt bag. It’s secure and convenient to have all your key items across your chest instead of having to dig around for it in bags/purses. I have this bag from Poppy & Peonies. It’s cute and has a large capacity with a card compartments (good for hotel keys) and an inner and outer (hidden) zippered pocket.

Soul sandals

For warm weather travels, I found these super comfortable sandals. It can be dressed up or down and it has good arch support which is a must for lots of walking.

Plane shoes:

If you want to feel like you’re travelling first class without paying the first class fare, buy yourself some plane shoes! I got a pair at Loft in Japan years ago and have been using them since. It’s foldable and compact and makes my long haul flights so much more enjoyable.

Phone case with stand

During my last few flights, I was on planes without any seat back entertainment. I’ve seen fellow passengers struggle to keep their phones up while trying to enjoy a few shows during the flight. I was glad my phone case came with a stand so it was super easy to just place my phone down when I wanted to watch a show without tiring my arms out and/or while trying to eat at the same time. This is the one I have and it gets the job done!

There’s my list! I hope to add to it as we do more travelling and as our little one grows up. Happy packing!
