Europe Day 21: Madrid

We quickly grabbed some granola bars and all bran cereal for breakfast since we knew it will be a busy day. We start off by visiting the Temple of Debod via the huge street of Gran Via and Plaza de Espana. It was such a beautiful monument suspended on water. It’s too bad I didn’t get to see it at night when lit up. Then we had an amazing race moment, grabbing fast food and rushing to attend a Sunday service with Sands. Apparently, my “fast eating” is still considered slow but oh well. After meeting a new friend at church, we were off to the Prado – one of the most magnificent art galleries in the world. It was nice that our new friend was a very knowledgable about art and history because it made our visit much more enjoyable. Then we all went out for an “early” dinner at normal North American time. Our friend then showed us the beautiful terrace of Circulo de Bellas Artes which nicely combined static art with real scenery. She then brought us to Llao Llao for some delicious frozen yogurt parfait! We ended the night at Plaza de Oriente of (which I butchered the pronunciation) and the grand Palacio Real. It was definitely nice to be brought around by a local! Muchas gracias!
